Tutoring and Quiet Workspace for Kids

Beehive is here to support big kids and their families in their quest to love and find success in learning.

At Beehive Tutoring, we offer personalized tutoring led and overseen by a certified elementary school teacher, reading specialist and ESL teacher with over 15 years of classroom experience. Our growing group of tutors is dedicated to helping students unlock joy and a growth mindset in all areas of learning. Beehive Tutoring tailors our approach to meet the unique needs of each learner and the needs of your family.

Our experienced reading specialist uses evidence-based strategies to assess your child’s reading level and identify any gaps or challenges. From there, we create a customized plan that incorporates multi-sensory techniques, interactive activities, and engaging texts to make learning fun and effective. With a strong emphasis on building confidence and fostering a love for learning, we work with a range of students, from preschool to those approaching middle school.

We provide:

  • One-on-one tutoring: Each session is designed around the specific needs of your child, ensuring focused and impactful learning.

  • Comprehensive reading support: Phonics, vocabulary development, fluency, comprehension, and writing skills.

  • Flexible scheduling: We understand the importance of balancing academics with other activities, so we offer tutoring at times that work best for your family.

  • Progress tracking: Regular updates on your child’s improvement and clear goals to help them stay motivated and focused.

Group Homework Help and Quiet Workspace

Each Saturday from 9:15-10:15 and Wednesdays from 5:45-7:00, Rachel (and other teachers as this program grows) will host small group tutoring and homework help at Beehive Upstairs. We aim to keep this group both fun and supportive of needs. Grown-ups are welcome to drop-off. Each session is $25 and we must have 3 students to run the group. Payment will be taken when 3+ students join the session.

Once you book your spot, a form will be sent out to gather info about your child and the specific reasons for attending our tutoring. (Maybe it’s decoding practice. Maybe skill work in fluency around addition and subtraction within 10. Maybe its a quiet place to work away from little siblings! Whatever your reason, we’ve got you!
